Administration
Tender Hearts Child Care and Learning Center is owned and operated by the Thomson family. Debbie, Bob and their daughter Stephanie all feel very strongly that an environment where children feel secure, safe and well cared for will increase their motivation for learning, personal development and self esteem.
The Thomsons are always available and welcome questions, comments and concerns.

Debbie Thomson, Executive Director, has a preschool teaching career that spans 30 years. She graduated in 1975 from the University of Rhode Island with a degree in Education, and pursued graduate studies at Rhode Island College and the University of Rhode Island.

Stephanie Thomson, Assistant Director and Kindergarten Teacher, has a Master of Arts in Teaching from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut.

Bob Thomson, Business Director, oversees all business-related aspects of Tender Hearts. With an undergraduate degree in finance from Niagara University and an MBA from Bryant University, Bob is experienced in business ownership and management.

Staff
The dedication of our staff is the strength of our program. Staff members have been carefully chosen for their education, experience, training and love of children. Tender Hearts supports each staff member with resources, training and guidance so they can create a unique learning experience for each child. In a nurturing and caring atmosphere, we foster each child's creativity and positive self-image. The success of our program lies in the quality of our staff. Each employee is selected based on their education, experience, talents, character, interpersonal skills, training in working with children, and their ability to show genuine affection and care in helping children to develop into confident, happy individuals.

We believe in positive methods of discipline. We establish age appropriate, consistent limits to help children develop a positive self-image while learning how to get along with others. We help children develop a sense of independence and responsibility and a respect for others.
